|Push-style server status monitoring||2mf||Bash||server||
My first (simpliest) way to collect monitoring data from few servers. Only skeleton for adding custom parameters. Using this way is not a good idea in general.

|Simple SVG Streaming Server||weilawei||Python||server||
This sample can currently display a clock (clock.svg) (incorrectly rotated 90 degrees...but it wasn't enough of a priority to fix. it's just an example.), show a static line of text (window.svg), or serve static files (the necessary client-side JS and HTML).
The client is at http://snipplr.com/view/64803/simple-svg-streaming-client/.

|Get time since Jan 1st 1900 from server.||Aphex19||C++||time since 1900 from server.||This is a pretty long "snippet", but I think it's pretty cool. It requests 4 bytes of data from "time-nw.nist.gov" on port 37, which returns the time in seconds since midnight on Jan 1st 1900, then prints out the time in various formats. WARNING: Do not make requests from this server more than once every 4 seconds (i.e. don't run this program more than once every 4 seconds), or you may be considered to be doing a DOS attack and your IP may be blocked.||May 28, 2011|
